The Vivo V29 series launched in India, the series consists of two phones Vivo V29 Pro & Vivo V29. The V series. knows for Looks and camera. The camera is the biggest highlight & it improves with every generation. If I compare it with Vivo V27 & Vivo V27 Pro improves with the camera.
Now going to see Vivo V29. We’ll see how it looks, its camera, display & performance. In fact, there’s a little surprise in the performance.
Vivo V29 Box Contents
In the box contents, You find a tall phone first when you open the box you get a transparent case with a large camera module, and the quality of the case is quite good. You get a charging brick of 80w in both Vivo V29 and Pro with a USB Type A to USB Type C Cable and the box also has the SIM card tool.
Vivo V29 Design
Talking about the color options that you get with V29, the colors are Space Black, Himalayan Blue, and Majestic Red. Personally, we feel the Majestic Red has eye-catching looks as the V series is known for its looks and camera. in terms of looks, it feels premium, out of the box with color changing back.
The color charging back you see in the Vivo V29 but the Vivo V29 Pro does not have a color-changing back as it has a wavy design.
Vivo V29 Ports & Buttons
At the bottom, there’s a sim card tray, microphone, USB Type C port, and speaker grill on the right. There’s a power-on button, volume rocker, noise noise-canceling microphone at the top, and nothing on the left-hand side. The sim card tray has a dual nano sim card slot.
Price – The base variant is 8GB with 128GB and 12GB with 256 GB. If I talk about the price now. The Price for 128GB is 32999rs and the price for 256GB is 36999rs.
Weight – The weight of the Vivo V29 is 186g. but it won’t feel like its weight is 186G it feels like the weight is around 176g. But in hand feel, the weight distribution is pretty good.
Vivo V29 Display
Talking about the display! The bezels on the top & bottom. There are no bezels on the sides due to the curved display. it’s a curved 3D glass & looks premium. The chin, it’s absolutely very small and both the bezels are the same. The screen-to-body ratio is 93%.
Let’s talk about the display. It’s a 6.78” FHD 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz fast refresh rate. In terms of brightness, it has 1300 nits. So it’s quite bright and it’s good for your eyes as it has 2160Hz PWM dimming. So that’s good for low light.
Your eyes won’t have much of a problem and you’ll be able to watch HDR on Netflix & YouTube on both phones. Vivo V29 & V29 Pro have HDR supported.
The display is phenomenal. There should’ve been stereo speakers in multimedia.
Vivo V29 Specification
Let’s talk about specifications. Performance is surprising. Vivo V29 has a Dimensity 778G SoC. This gives you an AnTuTu score of 587520. But this one is perfect. Vivo V29 has LPDDR4X & UFS 2.2.
Sensors – It has an in-display fingerprint sensor & face unlock, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. It has all the sensors you need.
You can play games on the highest settings. It has a curved display so there can be unintended touches. But the performance is excellent. You can play COD Mobile BGMI on HDR60FPS. The performance was excellent.
Vivo V29 OS & Updates
FunTouch OS 13 is available which is based on Android 13. I haven’t told you about the updates specifically. But as far as we know, there will be 2 years of major updates & 3 years of security updates. There are hot apps & games that you can disable but they are there.
Vivo V29 Connectivity
In connectivity, you get 5G. There are 8 band support in India. There’s dual 4G VoLTE & WiFi calling support. There’s Wi-Fi 6 on both the phones. It has Bluetooth 5.2 & Bluetooth 5.3 support. There’s no NFC.
Vivo V29 Camera
The camera is the biggest highlight of this phone and when we took photos, it was wow! We reserve all this for flagship phones.
This is also a flagship but it’s a camera-centric phone and it definitely beats flagship phones. Especially when you take photos. But let’s talk about the specs before talking about the camera.
The V29 comes with 50MP x 8MP x 2MP triple camera setup. But you get a 50MP selfie sensor. The rear camera is 50MP, 8MP & 2MP. But that also gives you 4K 30FPS both front & back. But the most impressive one is this Aura Light. It’s completely white to completely yellow. It means, when I’m taking a photo, suppose I’ve taken a photo with a white light. I want it to be a little warm.
Aura Light really makes a difference. And when you do it in low light, the effect will be more. So if you want to take portraits, Aura Light is going to really help you. so you don’t have to do it manually. You can keep it on auto & it’ll adjust according to the ambient lighting. You get wedding-style photography.
You get all the features you need in a smartphone camera. Both the phones have OIS, so you can take good photos & videos in low light. Even video footage is quite stabilized.
So overall, the camera impressed me. Front & back, even videography impressed me. In this price range, the Vivo V29 is in the Rs 30-35K price range. It’s definitely one of the best. The Vivo V29 series carries on the legacy of good looks, great cameras, even better selfie cameras & great display.
It has everything, Its performance has also increased, so it’s good there. If I were to nitpick, the stereo speakers are a miss.
