Vivo V29 Pro & Vivo V29 launched! we have been seeing the V series for the last 7-8 years & 2 things always stand out in the V series. Looks & Camera. The camera is the biggest highlight of the Vivo V29 series & we’ve always seen it improve with every generation. Should I talk about the Vivo V27 & Vivo V27 Pro? I was impressed with the camera and it is the best camera phone under 40000.
Now we going to see the Vivo V29 Pro in this article. We’ll see how it looks, its camera, display & performance. In fact, there’s a small surprise in the performance. we tell you all about it. But we’ll look at the Vivo V29 Pro.
Vivo V29 Pro Box Content
There’s a silver box with V29 Pro written on it. In the box after opening it, you find a tall phone, It’s ultra-modern & I can see the curved display. There’s a case & a big camera module. There’s documentation, a big charging brick. There’s an 80W flash charge. There’s a USB Type A to USB Type C cable and then you have the sim card tool.
Vivo V29 Pro Design
As I said, 2 things are important, looks & camera. There’s a big camera module. But in looking at this wavy design. It’s sparkly & when the light falls, you can see the sparkles. It’s beautiful! There are 2 colours in Vivo V29 Pro.
There’s Blue and black. There’s no color change in Vivo V29 Pro. It’s already sparkly & has its own design. I don’t think there’s a color change in Vivo V29 Pro. The Vivo V29 camera is similar to the Vivo V29 Pro. We took some photos & were impressed with them. Vivo says that this is India’s first 3D particle technology.
Vivo V29 Pro Ports & Buttons
At the bottom, there’s a sim card tray, microphone, USB Type C port, and speaker grill on the right. There’s a power-on button, volume rocker, noise noise-cancelling microphone at the top and there’s nothing on the left-hand side. The sim card tray has a dual nano sim card slot. But don’t worry, the base variant is 8GB or 256GB is of 256GB.
Vivo V29 Pro Price
Let’s talk about the price now. The price for Vivo V29 Pro comes in two variants 8GB RAM and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage space, the pricing for Vivo V29 Pro 8GB RAM with 256GB storage space is 39999 rs while the Pricing for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage space is 42999 rs.
This looks good in the hand feel. it’s a curved 3D glass & looks premium. If I talk about the weight,
it has a 4600mAh battery. Its weight is 187g. But in hand feel, the weight distribution is pretty good.
I felt that because it’s a tall phone, the heaviness goes to the front when you hold it. So it’s nothing like that, I’m impressed with this. It doesn’t look like 187g.
Vivo V29 Pro Display
In display. the bezels on the top & bottom. There are no bezels on the sides due to the curved display. But the chin, it’s absolutely very small and both the bezels are the same.
The screen-to-body ratio is 93%. talk about the display. It’s a 6.78” FHD 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz fast refresh rate and it’s bright. The total brightness is 1300 units. So it’s quite bright and it’s good for your eyes as it has 2160Hz PWM dimming. So that’s good for low light.
Your eyes won’t have much of a problem. Vivo does some things very nicely. Like the camera, display & looks. They never disappoint us. Because you’ll be able to watch HDR on Netflix & YouTube on both phones. Vivo V29 Pro has HDR supported. The display is phenomenal. There should’ve been stereo speakers in multimedia. I think that’s a miss.
Vivo V29 Pro Specification
Let’s talk about specifications. Performance is surprising. Vivo V29 Pro has a Dimensity 8200 SoC and this gives you an AnTuTu score of 9 Lakhs (905405). Which is literally a flagship-level performance. So I was not expecting that. I thought it would be a bit lower. But no, that’s good. It has LPDDR5 RAM type & UFS 3.1 storage type.
Let’s talk about the performance. You can play games on the highest settings. It has a curved display so there can be unintended touches. But the performance is excellent. You can play COD Mobile BGMI on HDR 60FPS. So if you looking for a good camera phone with a good processor that can do 60FPS gaming in BGMI then you can check out this Vivo V29 Pro. The performance was excellent.
Vivo V29 Pro Sensors & OS
Let’s talk about the sensors. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor & face unlock. It has all the sensors you need.
FunTouch OS 13 is available which is based on Android 13. if I talk about the updates specifically. But as far as we know, there will be 2 years of major updates & 3 years of security updates. There are hot apps & games that you can disable but they are there.
Let’s talk about connectivity before talking about the camera. In connectivity, you get 5G on the phone. There are 8 band support in India. There’s dual 4G VoLTE & WiFi calling support. There’s Wi-Fi 6 on both the phones. It has Bluetooth 5.2 & Bluetooth 5.3 support. There’s no NFC.
Vivo V29 Pro Camera
The camera is the biggest highlight of this phone. And when we took photos, We reserved all this for flagship phones.
This is also a flagship but it’s a camera-centric phone and it definitely beats flagship phones. Especially when you take photos. But let’s talk about the Camera specs before talking about the camera. The V29 Pro comes with 50MP x 12MP x 8MP triple camera setup. There’s an 8MP ultrawide, 12MP telephoto & 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor.
Even the 12MP telephoto sensor is Sony IMX663. But the biggest highlight is the selfie. It’s a V series so how can you not take a selfie? You get 50MP selfie sensors. We used to look at the photos very carefully. But the skin tones, colors, saturation & the bokeh.
One good thing is that you can take 2X portraits. It has an ideal length of 50mm. So the portraits absolutely impressed me. They’re right up there this might be the best camera phone under 40000. Even the selfies have a lot of FOV. So you can take group selfies. Low light performance. I think the X series is putting in a lot of effort. I think the V series is showing the difference. The processing of the photos is on point.
If I talk about the primary sensor & ultrawide. Even the ultrawide is very good. You’ll definitely see a slight color shift. But that’s really ok. Overall, the camera systems are really great. You get 4K 60FPS on both the front & back cameras.
But the most impressive one is this Aura Light. It’s completely white to completely yellow. But in the dark, you’ll definitely see the warmness on the face. So that’s the difference, Aura Light really makes a difference and when you do it in low light, the effect will be more.
So if you want to take portraits, Aura Light is going to really help you. It also comes with a light & color sensor, so you don’t have to do it manually. You can keep it on auto & it’ll adjust according to the ambient lighting. You get wedding-style photography on the phone.
But along with it, you also get movie LUTs. So when you’re shooting a video, you get different movie stylings like cyberpunk & bluish. So it’s excellent for videography as well. You get all the features you need in a smartphone camera. the phone has OIS, so you can take good photos & videos in low light.
Even video footage is quite stabilized and there’s another feature that we try is Postures. You know that when someone is taking a photo. But if you want good postures & portraits, it gives you a stencil. You can stand like this & you’ll get good photos.
So it guides you to take good photos. So overall, the camera impressed me. Front & back, even videography impressed me. In this price range, the Vivo V29 Pro is in the Rs 40-45K price range. It’s definitely one of the best. The Vivo V29 series carries on the legacy of good looks, great cameras, even better selfie cameras & great display.
It has everything, especially in Pro. Its performance has also increased, so it’s good there. If I were to nitpick, the stereo speakers are a miss. It would’ve been better if they were there.
