Another interesting phone is the TECNO Camon 20 Premier 5G. The TECNO Camon 20 series comes with 4G, 5G, and below-Rs 15K phones. The TECNO Camon 20 Pro comes under Rs 20000, and this phone under 30000.

The TECNO Camon 20 Pro comes under Rs 30K, and it’s the first phone with a 108MP ultrawide camera. We’ve seen 50MP ultrawide cameras in flagships and premium midranges, but we haven’t seen a 108MP one. There’s also a new Dimensity chipset. So overall, it’s a very interesting phone. I’d like to say that TECNO is definitely trying.

It wasn’t like this before, but now it’s changed with good phones and good hardware. Now let’s see how the TECNO Camon 20 Premier 5G is.

In the Box at the top, there’s a phone. There’s a 12-month warranty, a user manual, and a warranty card.

It has a lovely case! It’s just like the one you buy in the aftermarket. And look at this! It’s a pentagon-shaped camera. But the case is excellent! It’s a good-quality case. There’s a 45-watt adapter inside the box, so that’s good. Then there’s a USB Type C to Type A cable and a SIM card tool.

It’s a very different-looking phone. lines, and the module. And there’s a sensor in the middle of the LED light. It’s a very interesting-looking phone, and I’d say it’s good to look at. And it has a vegan leather finish and those lines. It has flat sides, but it’s shiny.

If I talk about the ports and buttons, there’s a speaker grill, a USB Type C, a microphone, and a SIM card tray. There’s nothing on the left-hand side. There’s a speaker grill on the top, meaning there are stereo speakers.

Then there’s a noise-canceling microphone and a volume rocker on the right-hand side. It looks like it’s side-mounted, but it’s not. There’s an in-display fingerprint sensor. It’s a sturdy phone; it looks big and square-ish. I’d say it’s a boxy design. It’s sturdy, but if I talk about weight, it should be around 200g. It’s 201.1g, the SIM card is hybrid, and then you can do unlimited storage. No, there’s a dual nano SIM card slot.

The display! I mean, the side bezels are really thin. The top and bottom bezels are the same size, so it’s very nice and square. If you look at it from the front, it’s a squarish design. But it looks modern; it doesn’t look like a Tecno phone, to be honest. I mean, this looks premium!

Display Features It has a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. It’s a 10-bit display with HDR10 support. I don’t know the exact brightness, but it’s very bright! The brightness is hardly 20%. I think it should be around 950–1000 nits. It also has a high-brightness mode.

Specifications It has a Dimensity of 8050 on this processor. We’ve seen 8020 as well, but this is probably the first phone with Dimensity 8050.

If I talk about the difference between the two, then the performance score is clocked at 3 GHz. In 8020, the 3–4 performance scores are clocked at 2.6 GHz. So the performance is slightly better.

It has 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage! There’s only one variant, and it has 512 GB of storage. It has 8GB of virtual RAM and a 5000mAh battery with 45W of charging. 0–70% in just 30 minutes.

Let’s talk about the UI. It has iOS 13, which is based on Android 13. There’s no update on it. But I read a PR where they said that the TECNO Camon 20 series phones will be the first to come on Android 14 Beta.

So that might be it, but there’s no clarity on it yet. There are 2-3 good features on iOS 13, and I like them. When you keep it on 100%, you get a charging completed tone. So you know that the charging has been completed. There are more features like AOD, customization options, live wallpapers, etc. So it’s definitely improving.

But look at the notification panel—who does it remind you of? There’s 8 GB of virtual RAM in game mode. There aren’t many third-party apps, but there are many first-party apps. You can uninstall them, but they’re there.

Talk about the performance. That’s very important. Its AnTuTu score is around 6.75–6.70, which is very good. Remember, we played PUBG and COD Mobile on it? You can play it on the highest settings, and the gameplay is also very good. The display is good; there’s an AMOLED display, a bright display, stereo speakers, etc. So it’s a great phone for multimedia gaming.

The camera. Look at the camera module. I have to say that TECNO has tried something different. It’s a ceramic module, and it looks premium. The primary sensor is 50 MP with sensor shift technology. It’s similar to OIS, but it’s better than OIS. The secondary sensor is 108 MP ultrawide.

It’s a 12 MP ultrawide sensor, but you can use the 108 MP ultrawide sensor natively. And the third sensor is a 2 MP AI sensor. Let’s not talk about that. But there are decent photographs. There are some grains, but other than that, it’s quite good. We tried it in normal conditions. It was our first impression, and we haven’t seen it in detail.

The primary sensor is the RGBW Pro sensor. Its light sensitivity is high, so it’ll take good photos in low-light conditions. So the colors will look good. The selfie sensor is 32 MP with dual LED lights. There are two LED lights on the front, so it’ll be brighter in low-light conditions.

So that’s quite good. In terms of hardware, TECNO has gone all out with the TECNO Camon 20 Premier 5G. You can shoot 4K at 30 fps in the rear and 2K at 30 fps in front. In fact, there’s another feature in the selfie mode. You can take a wide selfie, like a panorama. So that mode is also there. You can also take macro photos with its 108 MP ultrawide camera.

So that’s what the camera is. The hardware, display, and camera are all really good on the hardware front, at least.

TECNO Camon 20 Premier 5G Connectivity

Connectivity is excellent. All 5G bands are supported. It’s a 5G phone, so there’s no problem. There’s dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi calling support, and Wi-Fi 6. That’s very nice, and there’s also support for Bluetooth 5.3. So in terms of connectivity, it’s right up there.

The sensors are all there. There’s an in-display fingerprint sensor and face unlock, too. It works very well. There’s a film radio station too, so that’s good.

Interestingly, TECNO launched more phones in the mid-range and budget ranges. But they’re slowly inching up. and you are also preferring more expensive phones. I think the TECNO Camon 20 Premier 5G is good in terms of price. price, as it’s under Rs 30K. But according to that, they’re giving great hardware for sure. There are small things like updates, and there’s no clarity.
