iQOO has now brought their Pro iQoo Neo 7 Pro, and this is the first time they’ve brought a Pro in the Neo series. Before this, there was no Pro. Before this, Neo 7 was launched around 4 months ago. This article will help you learn the full specs of the brand-new iQoo Neo 7 Pro.
iQOO is sticking to its philosophy that it’s a great-performance phone at a very good price point. The iQOO Neo 7 is no different. You’ll come to know some very interesting things about this Pro model.
iQOO Neo 7 Pro Box Content
In the box, we have a clear and decent-quality case. Documentation, a USB Type C charger, and a 120W charger. Very nice! And a USB Type C to Type C charging cable and a humble SIM card tool. This is what comes inside the box.
iQOO Neo 7 Pro Design
I was talking about the color. The flashiness of this color! The color just stands out in the eyes. It also comes in sandblasted black and one orange color. If you put it on your ear, people are going to watch and notice it.
It’s a flashy color, and it has a vegan leather back finish. It looks very nice, and it’s square. These days, there are round camera modules everywhere. This one is a square camera module. It has a flat display, and it’s curved.
Externally, it feels very good in the hand even though it’s big, and despite being big, it doesn’t feel that heavy. But if I talk about its weight, according to me, it should be about 194–195 g. It’s not above 200 g, even though it has a 5000 mAh battery. It comes with a Scott Sensation Up glass.
Talk about ports and buttons. At the bottom, there’s a speaker grill, a USB Type C, a SIM card tray, and a microphone. On the left-hand side, there’s nothing. There’s an IR blaster and a noise-canceling microphone. On the right-hand side, there’s a volume rocker and a power on/off button.
No, it’s not side-mounted. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor. On the SIM card, it has a dual nano SIM card slot.
iQOO Neo 7 Pro Display
It’s a lovely display. These days, I’d call it a premium mid-range phone for Rs 30–40,000. The bezels are getting thinner, especially the chin. The screen-to-body ratio is above 93% because of the thin bezels.
The display is big, with a 6.78-inch 120 Hz AMOLED display. It has 1300 nits of brightness and supports HDR10. But I’ll tell you, it’ll support HDR on Netflix, and now it supports HDR on YouTube. There’s another feature called PWM dimming.
So when you use it in low light, your eyes won’t feel much discomfort. Another thing I liked is that you can calibrate the colors. So you can keep the colors to your liking.
iQOO Neo 7 Pro OS UI
It has Funtouch OS 13, which is based on Android 13. It has 2 years of major updates, i.e., 14–15, and 3 years of security updates. If I talk about the OS, there are pre-installed apps that you can uninstall and disable. But the rest of the UI is quite clean. Funtouch OS is definitely getting better and better.
iQOO Neo 7 Pro Specifications
The biggest thing is the performance. It’s powered by Qualcomm SD 8 Plus Gen 1. It’s a powerful 4nm processor which is at the same time power efficient. It has LPDDR5 RAM type, UFS 3.1 storage type, 5000mAh battery & 120W charging. iQOO claims 0-50% in just 8-10 minutes. But 0-50% in under 10 minutes.
iQOO Neo 7 Pro Performance
You’ll be able to play games at the highest settings with 60 FPS. It’s similar to iQOO phones, with solid performance. You’ll definitely enjoy gaming. Even on paper, it has a score of 1299977 on the latest AnTuTu platform.
Even on older platforms, it has a score of 1070818, which I think is absolutely smashing. It also has a frame interpolation chip. So when you’re playing BGMI, you’ll be able to play at 90 FPS. With frame interpolation, you’ll get a smoother gaming experience. It plays games like Makhan, and we tried playing COD Mobile.
It was beautiful! So full marks when it comes to performance, battery life, and charging. Charging is exceedingly good. So according to me, it’s a Pro. Especially if you look at its price.
It has a lot of features for gamers, like 4D vibration, and haptic feedback is really good. You can feel it while gaming.
I think this is a gamer’s phone, for sure. If I’m not mistaken, it’s the most affordable 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset-based smartphone at Rs 35K. The next best 8 Plus Gen 1 is probably at Rs 40K.
It also comes with 8 GB of virtual RAM. There are 2 variants: the base variant has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. And then there’s 12 GB of RAM with 256 GB of storage.
Regarding thermals, they are very important for gaming. It has a smart 3D cooling system that keeps your phone cool. It’s vegan leather, so it won’t feel too hot, especially if you buy this variant. We also did a throttling test, which is very good. It doesn’t throttle more than 80–85%, which is also very good.
iQOO Neo 7 Pro Camera
If you look at the iQOO Neo 7 or its earlier phones, the camera is average. But there’s a lot of improvement in that. If you look at the camera setup, the primary sensor is a Samsung GN5 50MP sensor. It’s an ultrawide 8MP and 2MP macro sensor. And I was actually surprised by the performance of the camera.
If you look at the skin tones, sharpness, edge detection, and colors, there’s definitely a lot of improvement. The dynamic range is average, and there’s scope for improvement. But overall, these are much improved cameras.
If I talk about the selfie sensor, it’s a 16MP selfie sensor. Even the low-light performance is definitely a step up. There’s a lot of improvement in it. If I talk about the videography, you can get 4K at 60 fps from the rear camera.
So whatever you’re expecting in a premium mid-range or budget flagship, I think the iQOO Neo 7 Pro is delivering it.
If I talk about the camera app features, they are all standard features. There’s also a super-night mode, which has definitely improved the low-light performance.
iQOO Neo 7 Pro Connectivity
Alright, let’s talk about connectivity. In terms of connectivity, this is 5G. All bands are supported in India. So no worries at all; there’s dual 4G VoLTE WiFi calling support. There’s WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and an IR blaster.
iQOO Neo 7 Pro Multimedia
In multimedia. The display is great; it’s a huge display, and as I said, you can do the color calibration. So you can set the colors according to your liking. If you like vibrant colors, you can watch videos. So video viewing is absolutely great. The viewing angles are very good. If I talk about the audio, you didn’t see the speaker grill above.
But it has stereo speakers. There’s a speaker in the earpiece and a speaker grill below, and the audio quality is also quite good. So even for multimedia, if you’re looking for this phone, it’s excellent.
Sensors—Again, all sensors are there. There’s an in-display fingerprint sensor and face unlock, and they work very well.
iQOO Neo 7 Pro’s other features
If I talk about the other features, there’s Widevine L1 support. You can do full HD streaming. In fact, as I said in the Netflix update, you’re going to get HDR. So that’s definitely good. There’s an IP52 certification, and that’s good. There’s no notification light; the SAR value is within limits.
There’s camera-to-API support. There’s no FM radio. And if I talk about the service centers, iQOO is still a new brand. So it’s a Vivo sub-brand. You can do iQOO servicing at the Vivo service centers. There are around 650 centers, so that’s also good. But the best part about this phone is its price.
I mean, under Rs 35K, the iQOO Neo 7 Pro‘s performance punches above its weight. The display is very good. The camera is much improved. The OS is also improved. Look-wise, it’s up to you. I mean, if you want a flash, you can look at it. Or you can look at the other grey or black color.
So if I look at everything and then look at the price, then I’ll definitely say that its price-to-performance ratio is right up there. And we’re thinking, as there are a lot of phones between Rs 30 and 40K. We should do a comparison.
